The Bills made the transaction after 4:00 pm in conjunction with the start of the NFL’s calendar year, which began at 4:00 pm ET today, allowing the team to make Fitzpatrick a post June 1st designation.

Orchard Park, NY – Buffalo Bills DE Chris Kelsay has informed the team of his plans to retire. Kelsay met with Buddy Nix late this afternoon and informed the Bills General Manager of his decision.

In addition to playing for the Buffalo Bills from 1989-92, Lofton was also a member of the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Raiders, Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles during his stellar NFL career. An eight-time Pro Bowl selection, he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2003. He currently covers NFL games for the Westwood One radio network.
The Buffalo Bills lost a heartbreaker to the Patriots on the road in Foxborough 37-31. Despite going toe to toe with one of the leagues premier teams, a late fourth quarter interception by Devin McCourty doomed the Bills in yet another bid to win their first game at Gillette Stadium. On a day that began with a glorious salute to our nations veterans, the Bills were not only able to contain Brady and company, but put up a decent offensive showing.
