On Friday September 16th, 2011, Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson made a guest appearance at Center Ice Sports Cards. He graciously signed autographs for hundreds of fans. Stevie conversed with, and took photos with fans as well. Stevie expressed his appreciation to Center Ice Sports Cards for having him in store.
Stevie Johnson played his college ball at Chabot College in California, and then transferred to the University of Kentucky. Stevie was drafted in the 7th round by the Buffalo Bills in 2008. He has worked his way to the #1 wide receiver position on the team. He had a breakout season in 2010, with 1073 yards received and 10 TD’s. Stevie explained, “It’s not about being the number 1, the ball goes to the player who’s open.”
Stevie expressed excitement about last week’s game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. He believed the team could be that successful. Stevie explained there’s a difference between this and last year’s team. He noted, having seasoned veterans on the team (like Nick Barnett), assists with changing the mind set. “We won’t let up.”
Stevie is looking forward to the opening game at Ralph Wilson Stadium. He knows the fans will be into the game, and appreciates this support. Stevie expressed respect for the upcoming opponent in the Oakland Raiders.
Stevie Johnson also spoke of TE Scott Chandler at Kansas City. He was excited to have the TE threat in the mix of plays. Stevie expressed remorse over accidentally interfering with Chandler’s first TD spike celebration. “I need to make it up to him.” Hopefully, he’ll have many chances.
