Bulls Beat Chippewas - Blog

Yesterday evening, the Bulls were on the winning end of a pretty convincing 64-50 victory over Central Michigan in the opening round of MAC tournament play. They will travel to Kent tomorrow (Thursday) to face the the top-seeded Golden Flashes, the prohibitive favorite to claim the MAC tourney and an automatic NCAA bid.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 7 - The Erie Community College men's basketball team will play Parkland College of Champaign, Ill., in the first round of the NJCAA Division II Tournament. The teams will play at 11 a.m. (Central) Wednesday in Danville, Ill.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – March 5 – Erie Community College’s 400 freestyle relay team of Caitlin Schwinge (Amherst, N.Y./Sweet Home), Rachelle Schmitt (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois), Raena Koeppel (Cheektowaga, N.Y.), and Julie Kaczmarek (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore West) finished in eighth place at Saturday’s NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The quartet posted a time of 4:06.38.
As a team, ECC finished 10th with 96 points.

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - March 5 – The Erie Community College men’s bowling team captured its 18th national title Saturday at the NJCAA Bowling Championships at Transit Lanes.
The Kats, who won their first title since 2007, knocked down 13,638 pins to top Hudson Valley Community College by 64 pins. ECC was led by sophomore David Zajac (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) who captured the men’s all-events title as he posted a score of 2,691 win by 159 pins.

The Kats knocked down 3,069 pins during the first three games of the five-man competition to surpass Hudson Valley Community College and Vincennes (Ind.).

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - March 4 - Erie Community College had three doubles teams finish in the top 10 during Friday's doubles competition at the NJCAA Bowling Championships at Transit Lanes.
 
ECC's Alyssa Narkiewicz (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) and Jenna Law (Milford, Mich.) combined for a score of 1,061 to finish fourth in the women's competition.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 3 - The Erie Community College team of Raena Koeppel (Cheektowaga), Rachelle Schmitt (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois), Caitlin Schwinge (Amherst/Sweet Home) and Julie Kaczmarek (Tonawanda/Kenmore West finished seventh with a time of 1:51.55 in the 200 freestyle relay Thursday at the NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at ECC's Burt Flickinger Athletic Center.
As a team, ECC is in 11th with 38 points. Defending champion Indian River State College leads with 290 points.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 2 - The Erie Community College men's and women's swimming and diving teams are both in 12th place after Wednesday's events at the NJCAA Swimming & Diving Championships at ECC's Burt Flickinger Athletic Center.
The Kats' women's 400 medley relay team of Julie Kaczmarek (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore West), Rachelle Schmitt (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois), Caitlin Schwinge (Amherst/Sweet Home), and Raena Koeppel (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) finished 10th with a time of 4:47.42.
