 ROCHESTER, NY – RIT men’s Hockey Head Coach Wayne Wilson announced the Class of 2015 on Tuesday, May 31. The group of seven student-athletes includes five forwards, one defensemen and one goaltender. Six student-athletes from the incoming class are from Canada and one hails from the United States.

Although none of the Atlantic Hockey Association’s three Western New York schools made it to the NCAA Championships, Canisius College, Niagara University and RIT are celebrating a successful season, and its first with new members Niagara and Robert Morris.
“I think they added a lot to our league,” RIT head coach Wayne Wilson said. “[The addition] only enhances our league; it only makes the team that wins that much better. I couldn’t be happier.”

ROCHESTER, NY - Sophomore goaltender Shane Madolora (Salinas, CA) of the RIT
men's hockey team, was named an INCH (Inside College Hockey) Second Team
All-American on Tuesday.  He becomes the second Tiger at the Division I
level to receive a national postseason honor.  Last season, defenseman Dan
Ringwald (Oakville, Ontario) was named a Second Team All-American.

Madolora enjoyed a tremendous season for the Tigers, finishing 17-3-7, with
a 1.93 goals against average, .935 save percentage, and six shutouts.  He

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of North Dakota, which last weekend defeated No. 15 Rensselaer and No. 7 University of Denver in the NCAA Midwest Regional, enters its 20th NCAA Men's Frozen Four as the No. 1 team in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll. North Dakota, which improved to 32-8-3 overall, collected 510 points and all 34 first-place votes to earn the top spot for the sixth week in a row.

  ROCHESTER, NY - Senior forward Andrew Favot (King City, Ontario) of the RIT

men’s hockey team signed a  professional contract with  the Elmira Jackals of East Coast Hockey League on Wednesday and will be in the lineup this evening.  Favot will join former teammate and RIT standout goaltender Jared DeMichiel (Avon, CT) with the Jackals.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 18 - Erie Community College sophomore forwards Nicholas Friol (Orchard Park,N.Y.) and Todd Lyness (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) were chosen first-team selections to the Region III team.
Friol led the NJCAA with 32 assists and was fourth overall with 56 points as the Kats won their first-ever NJCAA national title. He scored eight points in the national tournament and was named its most valuable player.

TRENTON, N.J. - Niagara men's hockey senior Bryan Haczyk has become the latest Purple Eagle to enter the professional hockey ranks, signing a contract with the Trenton Devils of the East Coast Hockey League on Friday.

 As part of the deal, Haczyk will attend the New Jersey Devils Summer Prospect Camp for the second year in a row, where he developed with many promising prospects, including Niagara teammate Scott Arnold.
