CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Jan. 26 - Sophomore forward Joshua Jaszcz (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) broke a 5-5 tie when he scored on a deflection with 3:52 remaining as the fourth-ranked Erie Community College hockey team picked up a 6-5 win over third-ranked Hudson Valley CC Saturday afternoon at the Cheektowaga Rec Center.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Jan. 20 - Freshman forward Matt Shumate (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) scored two third-period goals to lift the Erie Community College hockey team to a 7-5 win over Marist College (ACHA) Sunday afternoon at the Cheektowaga Rec Center.
Shumate gave the Kats a 5-4 lead with just over four minutes remaining when his shot at the side of the net beat the Marist goaltender on the stick side. Shumate, at almost the same spot on the ice as his first goal, then tapped in a rebound with 1:05 left for a 6-5 lead.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Jan 15 – Top-ranked Monroe CC scored two first-period goals and went on to record a 7-1 win over the Erie Community College hockey team Tuesday night at the Cheektowaga Rec Center.
ECC, ranked fourth in the nation, got on the board when sophomore forward Joe Rohm (Hamburg, N.Y.) scored the Kats’ lone goal with a tally late in the second period. Robert Finn (Amherst, N.Y.) was credited with the assist.

Freshman goaltender Daniel Fulton (Buffalo, N.Y.) made 24 saves.

Kats Move to Fourth in NJCAA Hockey Poll - Press Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y - Dec. 9 - The Erie Community College hockey team moved up one spot for fourth in today's NJCAA hockey poll. The Kats, who are 7-5 this season, are now fourth. ECC was fifth in the first two regular-season polls.
ECC will face Mohawk Valley CC at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Utica, N.Y. The Kats will play top-ranked Monroe CC at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cheektowaga Rec Center.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – Dec. 19 - The Erie Community College hockey team remained in fifth place in today’s NJCAA poll. The Kats are 7-5 and will play Mohawk Valley CC Jan. 13 in Utica, N.Y. The next poll will be released the week of Jan. 7, 2013.
Monroe CC, the defending national champion, remains ranked first.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Dec. 9 - The Erie Community College hockey team snapped a two-game losing streak Sunday by downing the Canisius College ACHA team, 7-2, at the Cheektowaga Rec Center. The Kats, now 7-5, got two goals and two assists from Ryan Rogalski (Lancaster, N.Y.) and Matt Malley (North Tonawanda, N.Y.).
Malley gave the Kats a 1-0 lead 40 seconds into the contest. Rogalski made it 2-0 with a goal with 11 minutes remaining in the period.

TROY, N.Y. - Dec. 8 - The Hudson Valley Community College hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the second period and went on to record an 8-5 win over the Erie CC squad Saturday afternoon in a Region III matchup of nationally ranked teams. The Kats got within one goal three times but could not record the tying goal.
Hudson Valley CC, the nation's fourth-ranked team, got three goals each from William Huber and James Murphy.

TROY, N.Y. - Hudson Valley Community College handed the Erie Community College hockey team a 6-3 loss Friday night in a matchup of ranking teams. The Kats, ranked fifth, entered the contest having won their last two games and five of their past six. Hudson Valley, ranked fourth, improves to 5-4.
The Kats got goals from Corey Kinmartin (West Seneca, N.Y.), Joshua Jaszcz (Cheektowaga, N.Y./West Seneca East) and Eric Mueller (Hamburg, N.Y./Canisius). Robert Finn (Amherst, N.Y.) had a pair of assists.

ECC's Mueller Named Athlete of the Week - Press Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Dec. 4 - Eric Mueller (Hamburg, N.Y./Canisius), a sophomore forward on the Erie Community College hockey team, was named the Region III Male co-Athlete of the Week Tuesday by the league.
Mueller recorded 14 points (6 goals/8 assists) as the Kats went 2-1 on the week. He leads Region III with 24 points (11 goals/13 assists).
Also in Region III statistics, ECC goaltender Dan Fulton (Buffalo, N.Y./Bishop Timon-St. Jude) leads Region III with a 2.14 goals-against average, allowing 10 goals in 280 minutes.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Dec. 2 – The Erie Community College hockey team erupted for nine second-period goals and went on to record a 14-1 win Sunday afternoon over the County College of Morris at the Cheektowaga Rec Center.
