WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - May 21 - Erie Community College sophomore Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) was named the Region III most valuable player. Barry, an outfielder/pitcher, hit .464 this past season with a school-record 71 runs batted to go with 24 doubles and 12 home runs. Barry also recorded a 6-3 record as a pitched and struck out a team-high 66 batters in 58 innings. Barry's 71 RBI and 24 doubles also lead the NJCAA Division III.
LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. - May 19 - Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) and Vinny Sherman (North Collins, N.Y./North Collins), sophomores on the Erie Community College baseball team, were named to Region III's All-Tournament Team, announced Sunday following the championship game. ECC finished as the tournament runner-up for the second-straight year.
LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. – May 19 – The Erie Community College baseball team suffered a 5-1 loss to fifth-ranked Niagara County CC Sunday in the Region III Tournament championship game at Veterans Memorial Park.
The Kats, who close the season 39-20, have competed in the past three Region III Tournament championship games. The 39 wins tie the 2005 team for most wins.
LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. - May 18 - Sophomore Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) scattered five hits while striking out eight batters as the Erie Community College baseball team defeated seventh-ranked Herkimer County CC 6-3 Saturday night in the Region III Tournament at Veterans Memorial Park. Barry also had three hits, including a double and a home run as the Kats improved to 39-19, tying the school record set in 2005 for most wins in a season.
LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. - May 18 - Freshman Michael Schnurr (Waterloo, Ont./St. David's) allowed four hits while pitching a complete game to lift the Erie Community College baseball team to a 2-1 win over Onondaga CC Saturday afternoon at the Region III Tournament at Veterans Memorial Park.
Schnurr improved to 9-0, one shy of the school's single-season win record, as the Kats improved to 38-19. The 38 wins are the second-most in school history. Schnurr set the single-season record for most innings pitched, 77.1, while striking out four.
LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. - May 17- Niagara County CC scored three runs in the first inning and later would add three runs in the eighth as the Thunderwolves, the nation's fifth-ranked team, recorded an 8-3 win over the Erie Community College baseball team Friday afternoon in the first round of the Region III Tournament at Veterans Memorial Park.
NCCC used four walks, a hit batter, a wild pitch and an error to plate three runs in the first.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – May 13 – The Erie Community College baseball team will open the Region III Tournament semifinals against eighth-ranked Niagara County CC at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls, N.Y. ECC won the 2011 tournament while NCCC won the 2012 title.
The Kats enter the double-elimination tournament 37-18 while NCCC is 34-16. The teams split their four games this season.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - May 11 - Sophomore Brian Barry (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) led the Erie Community College baseball team to wins of 7-3 and 13-3 over Hudson Valley CC Saturday in the opening round of the Region III Tournament. Barry homered in each game and scattered six hits to pick up the win in the nightcap. ECC advances to the Region III Tournament semifinals this coming weekend in Little Falls, N.Y. ECC's opponent is yet to be determined.

Game two of the best-of-three series is yet to be played at the ECC north campus diamond.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - May 9 - The Erie Community College baseball team will face Hudson Valley CC in the first round of the Region III Tournament. The teams will play a best-of-three series. Game one is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday on the diamond at the ECC north campus. Game two will follow. A third game, if needed, will be held Sunday.
The series is a matchup of the 2012 opening round. ECC scored seven runs in the first inning on its way to a 16-1 win in the opener and then saw All-America pitcher Mike Wagner strike out 17 in a 3-2 win.
