The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have recalled outfielder Anthony Gose from the Buffalo Bisons. To make room, RHP Mickey Storey has been optioned to Buffalo.
Gose has played in a team-high 40 games for the Bisons this year and has hit .227 (35-154) with five doubles, two triples, two home runs and 12 RBI. His 36 runs scored are six more than any player in the International League and he has five stolen bases in nine attempts. One of those stolen bases was a straight steal of home on May 7 against the Norfolk Tides.
The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned pitcher Ricky Romero to the Buffalo Bisons. Romero, 28, made two starts for the Blue Jays this season, making his 2013 debut on May 3 against Seattle.
The southpaw has won 51 games with the Blue Jays over the last four seasons including a 15-11 season during an All-Star campaign with Toronto in 2011. He started 32 games in three consecutive seasons with the Blue Jays (2010-2012) and has 621 strikeouts in 127 career major league starts.
The Buffalo Bisons defeated the Syracuse Chiefs by a 27-9 score on Thursday afternoon from NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse. Here is a list of the team record that fell as part of the victory.

The Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will hold their annual open house from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Coca-Cola Field.

(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Red Wings today named Tim Doohan the team’s new Director of Communication as announced by General Manager Dan Mason.
Doohan, a native of Webster, NY, previously spent two years as the Media Relations Assistant for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs following internships in the PR/communications departments of the Buffalo Bisons and Red Wings. Most recently, Doohan served as the Media Relations Assistant for the Charlotte Knights.
23-year veteran of Red Wings front office honored by Minor League Baseball
ROCHESTER, NY – Red Wings controller Darlene Giardina today was named the 2012 Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year by Minor League Baseball. The 23-year veteran of the Red Wings’ front office will be honored by the 240 teams of MiLB at the Baseball Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tennessee on December 3.
The Buffalo Bisons announced that OF Fred Lewis has been named the team’s Stan Barron Most Valuable Player for the 2012 season. The Herd also named RHP Matt Harvey its Warren Spahn Most Valuable Pitcher prior to Fan Appreciation Night on Tuesday.
