BUFFALO, N.Y. (August 18, 2014) --- The National Hockey League and the Buffalo Sabres today announced the NHL Combine will move to Buffalo in 2015 and 2016, with the event being held at First Niagara Center and the soon-to-be-completed HARBORCENTER complex across from the arena. The event, which has taken place in Toronto in previous years, showcases the top draft-eligible prospects from North America and Europe heading into the NHL Draft.
One of my favorite nights of the year is upon. The NBA 2014 Draft is about to commence! Who will go #1 overall? Where will Joel Embiid now go after his latest injury? Who will take a chance on the kid from down under Dante Exum? Where will PJ Hairston go after starring at UNC 2 years ago then being kicked out of school and forced to play in the D-League this year? Will that professional experience help or hurt his case? How far does the potential #1 pick of last year’s NBA Draft, Marcus Smart fall?
NEW YORK – It was an historic evening for the University at Buffalo football program as Khalil Mack was selected fifth overall by the Oakland Raiders in the 2014 NFL Draft held at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday. Mack became the highest drafted player in school history as well as the second highest drafted player in the history of the Mid-American Conference.
"I'm excited to be an Oakland Raider. I'm grateful," Mack said. "It's a blessing. It's all about playing football now and that's what I'm looking forward to most."
ALBANY, NY- Today, the Board of Regents unanimously (17-0) approved cheerleading to be recognized as a sport in New York State. The vote follows a recommendation by the P-12 Education Committee yesterday to recognize cheerleading as a sport.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Bills fans and people everywhere for their tremendous outpouring of love for Ralph. Their heartfelt condolences and warm wishes have truly been a comfort for me, Ralph’s daughters Christy and Dee Dee, Mary Owen and the entire Wilson family during this difficult time.”
I had the opportunity to watch the Mets this Spring Training in games against the Cards, couple of times against the high ranking Nationals, the Braves and the Tigers. I was also able to talk with some of the coaches about this year's team, the new acquisitions, the trades and the status of the prospects in the minor league. We also went over briefly the state of finances of the organization, etc.
